Thailand feels so modern compared to where we have ridden from. There’s 4-lane roads with traffic lights, big box shops, 7-11s and coffee shops. The coffee is great but we’re not here for the rest of it, so buzzing through. From Maesot, we heading up along the border riding some fantastic twisting roads that were smooth, wide and well-banked, almost like a motorcyclist designed them. There’s huge forests up here and tall trees always make me smile. We overnighted in Mae Sarieng, a small riverside town, and continued on great roads up and over Doi Inthanon National Park, where we found some delicious local sausage and dried fruits, and rode into bustling Chiang Mai. Drinks with Chris and Ann in the evening along with tasty, local Thai food. Now we’re off to service the bikes.
