Snapshot: Wild Kenyan Honey

Snapshot1 min read

2 February 2012

Looking down a hollow tree trunk. They're used as beehives by the farmers of Eastern Kenya and that inset on the right is a nugget of fresh, unprocessed honey. It tastes sublime... pure and rich. The hollow logs are hung from baobab trees and the honey they produce provide supplemental income for the farmers. I bought a jar of refined Kenyan honey and a tub of honeycombs from this female farmer that I'm interviewing and collecting soil samples from for my research.
