Smoking some shisha and drinking a shai (tea) at Tahrir Square in Cairo with some French and Spanish CouchSurfers who are also staying with my host, Fabrice. This was the focus site of Egypt’s recent revolution; they just crossed 100 days from January 25. Things are calm now and people say life is back to normal but with a new energy. Everyone is very polite and helpful and we happened to find the nicest taxi driver who didn’t accept any payment after I struck up a conversation with him in my basic Arabic.
