Sitting at the back of the ship after dinners and watching the Atlantic go by on my journey from Buenos Aires to Hamburg on the Grande Francia. The feeling of being on a small island really sets in when you have nothing on the horizon except deep blue water. After sunset, I could lean back and take in the stars as they slowly appeared. I noted the progression of the constellations, especially Orion as it flipped positions from the southern hemisphere to the northern. The temperature also changed as we went from summer in the south to winter in the north. In all ways, a fantastic way to travel…slowly.

  1. Hey Anthony, there was no internet access on the ship. This was a few weeks ago. They did have satellite email access for simple text messages.

Yup, there were 8 other passengers, 3 of them overlanders with LandRovers.

    A very cool experience.
